Signal/Story collects the minimum information needed to deliver the weekly briefing and respect your choices.
What we collect
When you subscribe or subscribe again, we store an append-only consent record with the exact timestamp, email address, consent version, signup source and selected language. We also store your current subscription status and technical tokens needed to confirm or end a subscription. Tokens are stored as one-way hashes rather than readable links. A one-way network identifier is held in short rate-limit buckets; expired buckets are removed during subsequent signup traffic.
Why we use it
We use this information only to manage your subscription, send the weekly issue, maintain delivery records and protect the form from abuse. We do not sell subscriber data.
Email provider
Once email delivery is fully configured and sender verification is active, confirmation and weekly delivery are handled through Resend. That provider processes your address to deliver messages and manage suppression or unsubscribe status. English and Arabic subscriptions are assigned to separate delivery segments based on the language you selected.
Editorial media
Some campaign images, product visuals and embedded case films are loaded from the first-party publisher or brand that created them. Those providers may receive ordinary request information such as your IP address and browser details. Editorial media is visibly credited and linked to its source; Signal/Story does not use it for advertising tracking.
Reader measurement
We count page views and anonymous reading sessions so we can see whether the briefing is useful. A random session identifier exists only in your browser tab's session storage and is converted to a one-way daily hash before storage. We do not use cookies, email addresses, raw IP addresses or device fingerprints for this count. Session identifiers are removed from the database after 35 days; aggregate daily totals may be kept to understand long-term readership.
Your choices
Every delivered email will include an unsubscribe link. Confirmation links are used only to verify a subscription. A verified privacy contact will be published here before outbound delivery is activated.
